Fig 1. Mobile Video Mapping (MVM) system
Mobile Video Mapping (MVM) is a innovative new survey and data collection paradigm that enables time and cost efficiencies of several magnitudes by the usage of latest technology. MVM technology has been extensively proven in the USA, Europe and Australia for performing several kinds of survey: Road asset mapping, pavement analysis, Rail mapping, Navigation mapping for LBS, POI capture, etc. The introduction of MVM in India for the first time by GeoVista, has the potential to transform the whole conventional survey and data capture industry. The system can also be mounted on a railway vehicle and hence can be used to undertake railway asset survey and mapping.
GeoVista operates Mobile Video Mapping equipment. This system is mounted on a minivan vehicle and consists of the following components:

Sub-surface mapping involves a complex process of collection and collation of existing information and discovery of sub-surface infrastructure using specialized tools like cable locators, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), etc.
Cable Locators help in identifying energized cables such as Telecom and Power cables, while GPR is a non-destructive sub-surface scanning equipment and helps in identifying both active and passive infrastructure, such as pipes. GPR uses electro-magnetic radiation and detects the reflected signals from the subsurface structures. It can detect objects, changes in material, and voids and cracks and hence can help differentiate between different types of pipes as well.
GeoVista has a team of specialists dedicated to sub-surface mapping.
